You’ve probably seen the ads on TV for Invisalign®. Often, when we see patients who are interested in braces for their teeth, one of their main concerns is whether Invisalign works. The ads make it look so easy and pain-free that most people have a hard time believing that this braces alternative actually works.
We’ve become accustomed to accepting that if you want straight teeth and a beautiful smile, you must endure some pain and suffering. This is simply not true with Invisalign. It definitely works well and you can check out comments and reviews from other patients to confirm that.
Invisalign, the all-new braces alternative not only works, but it allows you to eat the normal foods you enjoy. With old-fashioned metal braces, foods like candy and popcorn are out of the question. Many other foods like corn on the cob are very challenging to eat. But with Invisalign, you simply remove the clear aligners right before you sit down to eat. It’s pretty simple and convenient.
That goes for flossing and brushing as well. Just take your aligners out and brush as usual. If you have a social event to attend, leave them at home. They are almost invisible and most people won’t even know you’re wearing them, but you can take them out for brief periods of time.
Now for a few hard facts about Invisalign. This will answer many of your questions, but if you still have concerns, my staff is eager to hear from you.
Each patient’s teeth are different but generally speaking, if you require only a mild correction, then count on about six months of treatments. If you have an average amount of correction necessary, spaces between several teeth, crooked teeth, and that sort of thing, then your treatment plan will most likely last from 9 to 18 months.
The average treatment plan runs around $5,000. Though this is currently the national average, each patient has differing needs and your individual Invisalign treatment plan may be a little cheaper or a little higher. In many cases, your insurance will cover $1,000 of the cost. You can also place up to $2,500 in a medical savings plan where your work. This is an excellent way to save some money. The remaining balance can be financed.
Call our office and tell them you’d like to come in and speak to the doctor about getting Invisalign. At your appointment, we’ll answer all your questions and let you know if you’re a good candidate for Invisalign. We can even go ahead with your x-rays if you decide you’re ready.
Once we get your x-rays, Dr. Jones will put together an individualized treatment plan based on your special needs and requirements. At this time, he can also give you a more solid estimate of the cost and treatment period.
