The first step to better care of your oral health is to have a comprehensive oral exam conducted by a dentist. At Nashville Restorative Dentistry, Drs. Ryan Jones and Caleb Estes are here to help you kickstart your renewed commitment to solid oral health. Dental professionals recommend that you see a dentist 2-4 times a year for preventative visits, depending on your gum health status. If you are new to our office, we start with a comprehensive dental exam.
In many cases, oral health problems can lurk without producing symptoms. For example, knowing when a person has a cavity without a dental exam is difficult. Also, gum disease frequently presents without any symptoms. Here are some additional reasons to schedule your comprehensive dental exam as soon as possible:
Your dental exam will start with one of our talented dental hygienists thoroughly examining your teeth and gums. We will take a cone beam CT scan in-between the teeth x-rays and will scan your mouth, gums, and teeth for any signs of problems. These problems can include things like tooth erosion, fractured or chipped teeth, tooth decay, gum (periodontal) disease, and oral pathology.
An oral cancer screening is essential. The dentist will check carefully for spots, swelling, discoloration, and other abnormalities that can indicate potentially cancerous lesions.
Equally important, the dentist will assess the oral structures of your face and jaw, including the jaw joints, to ensure they are functioning without cause for concern.
Are you ready to jumpstart your journey to better oral health? Drs. Jones, Estes, and the skilled team at Nashville Restorative Dentistry are here to help you get started. Issue: Two badly infected and broken upper front teeth as well as poor alignment of his teeth overall.
Solution: Through a process involving extractions, bone grafting, and braces we were able to achieve a healthy, infection free point which allowed dental implants to be placed and utilized to replace the two missing front teeth.
